The beamer class is focussed on producing on-screen presentations, along with support material such as handouts and speaker notes.
Content is created in a frame environment, each of which can be divided up into a number of slides actual output pages. A simple 'action' notation is used to specify which material appears on each slide within a frame. The class supports a range of environments to enable complex slide relationships to be constructed. The appearance of slides is controlled by a template system. Many of the elements of slides can be adjusted by setting simple key-based values in the preamble.
More complex changes can be implemented by altering specific, targeted definitions without needing to re-write entire blocks of code. This allows a variety of visual appearances to be selected for the same content source. Skip to content. A LaTeX class for producing presentations and slides View license.

Do you have a GitHub project? Now you can sync your releases automatically with SourceForge and take advantage of both platforms. This is very versatile. I don't think there's ever been something I've needed to do in a presentation that I couldn't do with beamer.

This five-part series of articles uses a combination of video and textual descriptions to teach the basics of creating a presentation using the LaTeX beamer package. These tutorials were first published on the original ShareLateX blog site during August ; consequently, today's editor interface Overleaf has changed considerably due to the development of ShareLaTeX and the subsequent merger of ShareLaTeX and Overleaf.
However, much of the content is still relevant and teaches you some basic LaTeX—skills and expertise that will apply across all platforms. If you've never used LaTeX you may want check out our video tutorials for beginners. To start our presentation we need to set the document class to beamer.
We'll look at a number of different themes that can be used later on in the series. Now to complete the preamble we'll enter our title, subtitle, author, institute and date information:. Just like any other LaTeX document we need to enclose our document in the document environment. Now to add slides in we use the frame environment.
Just like with a normal LaTeX document we want to split our presentation up into sections and subsections. Let's add in some sections and then add some frames to each section. For example:. Now if we compile the code we'll see that the information we added in the preamble has been neatly put together on the title page:.
We'll also see that the table of contents slide has automatically numbered the sections and displayed them along with their corresponding subsections:. At the bottom of every slide a bar has been automatically generated with the author name, institute, presentation title, date and frame number:. To show the presentation, we download the project, open it in a PDF reader and put it in a fullscreen view.
You will notice that in the bottom-right-hand corner beamer has given us some navigation buttons:. We'll talk more about the difference between slides and frames later in the series. The next button along that doesn't have arrows either side takes us to the last page of the presentation if we click on the right had side of the icon or to the first slide if we click on the left.
Then the circular arrows are like undo and redo buttons and take us back through the history of which slides we have visited.
The search icon allows you search through your presentation. This concludes our discussion on setting up a basic presentation. In the next post we'll look at adding different types of content to our slides.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Author: Josh Cassidy August This five-part series of articles uses a combination of video and textual descriptions to teach the basics of creating a presentation using the LaTeX beamer package.Presentations, otherwise known as seminars, talks or lectures, are given to an audience with the purpose of sharing information with a group of people.
LaTeX is capable of producing presentation slides using the Beamer class in a simple and easy-to-use way.
This template creates modern presentation slides using the beamer class. The minimalist design lets you quickly enter your content and spend time honing your message rather than wasting time in presentation software. The template includes examples of many slide types which should cover most use cases as well as different ways of putting in your content no matter what it is and how you want to emphasize it.
This presentation template uses the Fancyslides class which builds on top of the well-known beamer class to give it a modern and concise design. The template is very minimalist with large font sizes and little space for text and would thus be suited for popular presentations by confident speakers. It makes extensive use of background images for slides to provide a strong visual counterpart to the verbal presentation.
Content within the presentation is housed within translucent colored circles or rectangles. The former are used for main points or section delineations while the latter are used for larger blocks of text or data slides.
Several predefined color options are present within the template and you can also define your own. This presentation template is unique in that it uses the standard KOMA-Script scrartcl class to create a beautiful presentation. The design of the slides is focused on readability with large fonts and line spacing.
Each slide features a running head and a footer with information about the author as well as progress through the presentation. The coloring, shadows and custom fonts give the presentation an elegant look while clearly displaying any type of content.

Equation in Beamer Ask Question. Asked 2 years, 7 months ago. Active 2 years, 7 months ago. Viewed 14k times. My script works fine, until I add frame with equation.
Empty lines are not allowed in the equation environment. Just remove the empty lines before and after the line starting with Total. How do you compile your document? Did you try xelatex or pdflatex? Both should work fine once you made the changes I described above.

TUG is going online July 24, 25 and 26th.Beamer is a powerful and flexible LaTeX class to create great looking presentations. This article outlines the basis steps to making a Beamer slideshow: creating the title page, adding a logo, highlighting important points, making a table of contents and adding effects to the slideshow.
After compilation, a two-page PDF file will be produced.2000 ford f250 engine diagram diagram base website engine
The first page is the titlepage, and the second one contains sample content. This page may contain information about the author, institution, event, logo, and so on. See the title page section for a more complete example.
It is worth noting that in beamer the basic container is a frame. A frame is not exactly equivalent to a slide, one frame may contain more than one slides. For example, a frame with several bullet points can be set up to produce a new slide to reveal each consecutive bullet point. Open an example of the Beamer package in Overleaf. The Beamer class offers some useful features to bring your presentation to life and make it more attractive.
The most important ones are listed below. There are some more options for the title page than the ones presented in the introduction. The next example is a complete one, most of the commands are optional. The distribution of each element in the title page depends on the theme, see the Themes subsection for more information.Codice a1413c dd 7 maggio 2020, n. 417
Here is a description of each command:. Usually when you have a long presentation, it's convenient to divide it into sections or even subsections. In this case, you can add a table of contents at the beginning of the document.
Here is an example:. As you see, is simple. It's also possible to put the table of contents at the beginning of each section and highlight the title of the current section.90833 reimbursement
Just add the code below to the preamble of your L a T e X document:. It was mentioned that a frame is not equivalent to a slideand the next example will illustrate why, by adding some effects to the slideshow. In the final PDF file this code will generate 4 slides.
This is intended to provide a visual effect in the presentation. This will determine in which slide the element will appear, if you append a - at the end of the number, the item will be shown in that and the subsequent slides of the current frameotherwise it will appear only in that slide. Check the animation for a better understanding of this. These effects can be applied to any type of text, not only to the itemize environment.
There's a second command whose behaviour is similar, but it's simpler since you don't have to specify the slides where the text will be unveiled. This code will generate three slides to add a visual effect to the presentation.
In a presentation is a good practice to highlight the important points to make it easier for your audience to identify the main topic. The way the enclosed text will look depends on the theme you are using. To highlight a paragraph with concepts, definitions, theorems or examples, the best option is to put it inside a box.
There are three types of box, and it's up to you to decide which one better fits in your presentation:. There are some aspects of a Beamer presentation that can be easily customized. For instance, you can set different themes, colours and change the default text layout into a two-column format. It's really easy to use a different theme in your slideshow. For example, the Madrid theme most of the slideshows in this article use this theme is set by adding the following command to the preamble:.
The themes can be combined with a colortheme. This changes the colour used for different elements.Beamer is a LaTeX document class for creating presentation slides, with a wide range of templates and a set of features for making slideshow effects.
The Beamer class is not the first LaTeX class for creating presentations, and like many of its predecessors such as slidesseminarprosperpowerdot it has special syntax for defining "slides" known in Beamer as "frames". Slides can be built up on-screen in stages as if by revealing text that was previously hidden or covered.
This is handled with PDF output by creating successive pages that preserve the layout but add new elements, so that advancing to the next page in the PDF file appears to add something to the displayed page, when in fact it has merely redrawn the page. The list of features supported by Beamer is quite long.
The most important features, according to the user guide are:.
Beamer supports syntax of other LaTeX presentation packages, including ProsperPowerdot and Foilsby using compatibility packages. Beamer provides the ability to make "handouts", which is a version of the output suitable for printing without the dynamic features, so that the printed version of a slide shows the final version that will appear during the presentation. For actually putting more than one frame on the paper, the pgfpages package is to be used.
This version is suitable for lecture notes or for having a single source file for an article and the slides for the talk about this article. Beamer depends on the PGF and xcolor packages for some of its features. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
